Rep. Lagdameo Assures He Will Stay with Teodoro

Rep. Antonio “Anton” Lagdameo, Jr. of Davao del Norte, who is unopposed in the second district, has further guaranteed Lakas-Kampi-CMD presidential bet Gibo Teodoro of his maximum support until the May elections arrives.

“I fully support the continued run of Gibo for the presidency despite all obstacles being faced [by him],” said Lagdameo, husband of actress Dawn Zulueta.
Dawn previously promised she’ll campaign hard for Gibo as well.

“Our voters know who they should really support as president, and that’s Gibo,” Lagdameo said.
Madeline “Bebot” Marfori, a member of a local influential family in Davao City, also uttered complete support for the Harvard-trained lawyer’s bid to become the Philippines’next president.

“I’m personally supporting Gibo for his decisiveness and integrity,” said Marfori, the presidential adviser for special projects in the South.

Previously, Lagdameo affirmed his backing for Gibo, owing to his genuine record and his indisputable and deep concern for Mindanao.

“We will exert all efforts to ensure Gibo’s victory in the South as we believe that he has all the qualifications and the traits to lead the country to progress into the next decade,” Lagdameo said. “He has shown a genuine concern for lasting peace and sustainable development in Mindanao.”

Earlier, former Lakas-Kampi-CMD president, Sarangani Gov. Miguel Dominguez, stressed out that Gibo’s solid program in a post-Arroyo presidency—plus his supreme support for Mindanao in moments of local clashes and natural disasters—has endeared the former National Defense secretary to Mindanaoans.

Dominguez and Lagdameo both approved that the solid support of Mindanao bestows Gibo an advantage in the electoral race, taking into account that the Lakas-Kampi-CMD standard bearer is expected to lock, at the minimum, approximately 45% to 50% of the South’s estimated 24 million voters, or 12 million votes.

“What differentiates Gibo from the rest of the presidential candidates is that he alone has a concrete program to move the country forward—and to greater heights—in the post-Arroyo administration,” said Dominguez.

“On top of this distinction that makes Gibo the most qualified among this year’s batch of presidential contenders, the Mindanao vote is virtually in the bag because he has endeared himself to us Mindanaons as he has always been there for us in times of calamities and conflicts,” Dominguez said.
